a simple app to simulate the scotland yard board game, wanted to see how hard it is to win as Mr.X
lost to my friends in scotland yard yesterday. to prove itβs not skill issue (π€§) i built the entire game in python and simulated it 1000 times pic.twitter.com/nio3zCIfmr

socratica is rethinking maker culture at waterloo (and now in 30+ other cities!) by running weekly co-working sessions
running the symposium and experiencing the magic first hand will forever be a life highlight. who knew that waterloo would be a destination on a random thursday night!
we had over 1500 unique attendees at our sessions, launched 30+ new nodes, and enabled hundreds of thousands of hours of creative work
we finally open sourced our work by launching the toolbox to help rekindle maker culture all across the world
most importantly, we had a lot of fun, hosting paint night, potlucks, clay nights and even launching a lounge space called the dungeon!
silly soundboards i made to learn android studio while in sri lanka that eventually popped off after relentlessly pushing them on subreddits and optimizing ASO
resulted in 250k+ users, 100% profit margins. funded my tuition, rent and shenanigans for a bit.
installed at least once in every single country in the world
marketed entirely by my cousins and i by making memes about the app and posting them on various subreddits
founded by my friend Munir, and once a humble project that turned into a full scale operation
travelled in random pickup trucks, built greenhouses and got a lot of paint on my clothes.
did a bunch in revenue before sunsetting it since we had to move for university. ultimately shut everything down.

my most technically challenging apps, learning how to
create geofences around locations and trigger them
instantly was tricky.
hustled and did engineering, marketing, media and motion
graphics on my own. first time using after effects and
illustrator to make one of my favourite videos of all
time! (i did copy Apple's don't blink ad)
3k+ users, 100k+ views on youtube and a lot of reddit

snapApaper
jan 2020 - aug 2020
snapApaper was my first large project. an app that allows students to
take photos of their past papers and find the corresponding marking schemes.
built for the british curriculums, an immensly useful app that bypassed ad-filled and paywalled websites.
also my first time working with computer vision and ML!
5k+ downloaded papers, 1k+ students and an unquantifiable number of high school graduates as a result of this app (me included).
youtube & video editing
jan 2017 - sept 2021
made gaming on youtube for many years before ultimately stopping. a lot of minecraft, stardew valley and other games!
spent a few years also professionally editing and freelancing with over 50 clients.
spent a lot of time making thumbnails and in the process learned a lot of soft skills in design, media and 3d graphics.
learned sony vegas, premire pro, photoshop, illustrator, cinema 4d, blender, making rigs and so much more.
i think in another life, if i weren't in tech, my dream job would be to be a youtuber.
